As you can see from my skills, I prefer to build all infrastructures on the basis of open standardized protocols and open source software. An important reason for this is that it is very important to me to remain independent of individual market players/product providers. Unfortunately, the risk that lies dormant in such dependencies (also known as vendor lock-in) is often not yet recognized or is ignored. These decisions are then regretted as soon as the used systems are either no longer developed further or the dependency built up on the provider is enforced in the form of large price increases, for example.

Do you recognize yourself or your company in this problem? The company DISQU, which I co-founded, provides support in carrying out necessary migrations to digitally sovereign alternatives. DISQU also offers you protection against this risk before the horse has already left the barn. Take a look at www.disqu.de.
